I have always been fond of gemstones and stones that have
been weathered smooth in lakes and streams.
They have prodigious physical beauty and show the fabulous creativity of
Mother Nature. Stones are made of
trillions of marvelously dancing atoms, forever spinning and frolicking in the
Cosmic Dance. Their often-crystalline molecular arrangements and vibrations have
a comforting, more regular, more stable order than biologic phenomena. They transform trillions of times slower than
living things. They are rich in silicon,
the lovely, heavier, sibling of carbon in the p2 family.
For intrigue sometimes, I have attempted to imbue them with extra powers . . . by lovingly massaging them, by sharing my warmth with them, by sleeping with them, by vibrating with them, by inviting them to steep in my metaphysical and physical vibrations, Thus, by making them into “talismans”, they have become much more special for me. They are no longer just ‘off the shelf’ stones; they have become mine. I have befriended them. And when I give them to someone dear to me, perhaps they carry some of me with them. I don’t know this for sure, but perhaps they can then serve as antennae to help my friend better tune into my energies, and help me and them connect in loving ways. Perhaps because I believe this, it becomes true for me. Perhaps it’s one of those magical ways I can create my own reality. When I tune into stones, I feel much more connected with my deceased sister Linda, who often bonded with stones through the universal glue of appreciation. Perhaps it’s ‘just’ due to the placebo effect, but that doesn’t diminish its reality.
I continue to be nourished by the relationship wellness (love) I have with the stones I have befriended.
Perhaps this seems crazy, but it works for me.
