Pura Vida! -- this is the ubiquitous Costa Rican phrase which translates as, “ Life is good, I’m feeling a lot of gratefulness right now and have been feeling a lot of joy lately.”
Here’s my ‘day off’ routine that has been nourishing me extremely well:
Strong coffee & pondering on the couch for 30m,
Vipassana mediation for 30m,
Mindfulness yoga for 20 m,
My daily breakfast of a rich brownie,
Motorcycling on country roads for 45m,
Strolling thru a park and woods for 45m,
Meditation with the birds beside a fast, playful, undulating river for 20m,
A quesadilla at “Miller’s Country Diner,”
A “Joy” ride home for my daily hot tub bath,
Tai Chi for 20 min,
then a nice nap.
Perhaps this type of day is better called a ‘day on’. Pura vida!
I LOVE your day off/on!
For me a day off/on is not having to do anything for anybody. And nothing scripted.
But I get so suspicious of planning that sometimes I forget to be intentional. It's an artful balance, to be intentionally present and open to the flow. Knowing how much structure to allow, how much 'just happening.' Thanks for your inspiration!
